Karen’s new works rely on the paint to earn its place on the surface by giving it the freedom to tell much of the story with an energetic trust.
The work has moved from themes of a place, Sète, in the south of France to character studies of fifty local Mediterraneans, works for a contemporary dancer or the reinterpretation of works at the Musée Fabre, Montpellier.
In 2012, her artist’s book illustrating a previously unpublished text by Jean Cocteau.was included in the Musée Fabre exhibition, Jean Cocteau, Unique et Multiple.
More recently, Karen has illustrated an artist’s book for the Parce Que Collection published by Editions Luis Casinada, taken part in Art Below at Regent’s Park, London, the Salon d’Automne, Paris, Postcards from the Edge, New York, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2014, The Other Art Fair and London Calling at the Truman Brewery, London. Her work was also exhibited at the Berliner Liste and published in RiverLit, Spokane,WA..
Karen is from England but lives and works in Montpellier France.
